  Zen Chimney Cleaning did a fantastic job sweeping our wood burning insert and chimney flues. Clarence was both professional and friendly, and he took the time to explain the whole process while working with an intern.   I highly recommend Zen Chimney Cleaning. Clarence did an excellent job with the regular chimney sweep, but also went above and beyond by cleaning the honeycomb filters for the first time and taking the time to explain how to properly use the airflow features on my Appalachian stove. He even installed new bolts to secure the airflow grate after the original one broke. I really appreciate how helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable he is. I'm looking forward to seeing how well the stove works now that I understand how to use it correctly.

  After moving into my new home in Matthews, I noticed quite a few issues with the chimney. It had originally been set up for wood burning but was later converted to gas, which only worked off and on. There was no chimney cap and the crown was damaged, so we kept getting visits from birds, flying squirrels, and lots of leaves coming down the flue. Things really got uncomfortable when the fireplace started giving off a strong odor during the humid weather. I reached out to several chimney sweep companies, but none of them got back to me. Luckily, I found this local chimney sweep team and sent them a message through their website. I was impressed to get a quick phone call back with a fair quote and an appointment set up just two weeks later. Lucas arrived early for the appointment after giving me a call. He carefully inspected the chimney, explained everything clearly, and let me know what repairs were needed. I appreciated how he took the time to educate me about the issues and what to expect. The next day, Kai came out to handle all the work, except for the cap installation since it needed to be specially ordered. That morning, though, he found a similar cap in their stock that fit and offered it at a lower price. Now, my fireplace is clean, safe, and works great—no more critters, leaves, or bad smells. I’m really happy with the service and grateful for all the helpful information about my chimney and gas fireplace. It’s nice to finally enjoy a cozy, worry-free fire in my Matthews home.
