  James did an amazing job rebuilding the top of our chimney. Our house is built from unique bricks, but he took the time to find us several options, and let us pick a really close fit. James was very friendly in all our interactions, but especially with our dogs. Anyone that can disarm our grumpy old dog is good people. I highly recommend The Floo Network if you are looking for friendly, honest service done right. Also, Sequoia has a very calming phone presence :)

  We have been using the Floo Network for several years for cleanings, a new chimney and, most recently, for a new woodstove. The work has always been professional and well executed. The new stove is far more efficient than our previous unit and is capable of heating all of our small home. I have recommended James to friends and we look forward to continuing to use the service for cleanings!

  I had the Floo Network install a Blaze King Princess PE32 in my 3-year-old house. The propane “builder special” that came with the place was not hooked up by the contractor, and all my efforts to get one of the local fireplace companies to come out and finish the job failed. That is when, by chance, I drove past the Floo Network Business office in Hagerstown (they need a bigger sign!). I met James and told him how I heated my home in Germany, and James talked me into the Blaze King. No, it wasn’t cheap! Did I get what I paid for? Well, as I sit here and it is 10 degrees outside this December morning, the Blaze King is burning wood and heating my entire 3300 sq ft house. My Heat Pumps are not running! I will go through a Cord of wood this month (Cherry wood) which cost me $60.00! Now that’s the kinda heating bill I like! I read all the review for the Floo Network. Either you love them or hate them it seems. But let me say this. There are not many people who do what this young man does. He knows his trade. This type of work is expensive, be prepared for that fact. He struggles to keep good help, because he only hires people he can trust in your home. Often, he is a one-man-show and because of that be prepared to wait. No, they are not fast. So, would I recommend this company? Absolutely! Plus, the good news is I also now have a chimney sweep! This is a time-honored profession in Europe. Good luck finding one back here in the States! (I'll add a photo soon!)

  We are extremely pleased with the products and service we received from The Floo Network. James and his team were thorough, communicative, punctual, and industrious. When we purchased a twenty year-old home, we contacted The Floo Network for an inspection and cleaning of our factory-built fireplace. After carefully examining our chimney and firebox, James showed us how dangerous our existing fireplace was and we came up with a plan to replace it. The firebox had rusted through and was indeed a hazard and he found rotted framing at the top of the chimney. We considered many options, but finally decided on a Forever Fireplace. James does all the work himself and he is exceptionally meticulous. This is what you want in someone who is installing a fireplace! Since the raised hearth and some of the facade had to be removed to install the new firebox, we decided to tackle the replacement masonry ourselves. We know it’s not as polished as James would have done it, but we’re very satisfied with the way it turned out. We highly recommend The Floo Network!

  James Quinn did an excellent job of installing a new crown and waterproofing my chimney. He is very knowledgeable with national codes. James is very personable, does a great job of explaining what needs to be achieved, and truly is a very honest young man.
