  Shane came the day after Thanksgiving to clean and service my fireplace. He told me about a potential fire hazard with the ash trap that was not up to code. He came today and sealed it professionally. He's experienced, knowledgeable, and even better, he's an honest and friendly person. I highly recommend his services!!

  Back in February of this year, we had S.R. out to look at our gas fireplace for an inspection. We recently moved into a new home several years ago and had never used the fireplace before. Upon inspection, the employee told us that he wouldn't recommend using our fireplace and that we would need to spend thousands to replace the chimney. He was there for 15-30 minutes tops, charged us $165 and basically told us we were screwed. This week we decided to get a second opinion from another company. They came out and did a free inspection. Found out we just needed to replace our pilot light which had corroded and wouldn't stay lit. After speaking with the employee, I explained the experience with the other chimney company. He was at a loss for words. Only thing he could think of was maybe the employee didn't want to replace the pilot light because it was difficult to get to and would be a little complicated to swap out. I'm glad we called a second company. Not sure if S.R. just had a new employee or he was having a bad day but very apparent he didn't want to do the work.

  Unfortunately ,I did not have the same experience that it seems the other reviews had. I read through Shane's website and had a detailed conversation when I called to book. I was specifically looking for a chimney sweep and this was what I was expecting during my scheduled service call. We purchased an older home "as is" and wanted to make sure the chimney was cleaned and that we also had a more detailed inspection report than what we received with the whole home inspection. My husband discovered after the service call had been completed that the chimney had not been cleaned (leaves and cobwebs visible as soon as he opened the chimney flue). When I contacted Shane to inquire why that hadn't happened. He explained "When doing a routine service call in our busy season(August-February) we charge $185 for cleaning and inspection and if the cleaning is not necessary the price does not change it is essentially the price for the overall service call." The website states in 2 different places "We provide free video inspection and estimates with all of our cleanings" . There is a services tab that clearly states they clean and offer a free inspection with cleaning. The problem is that I did not receive a cleaning at all during my service call and was charged the full amount only for an inspection and estimated costs associated with repairs needed that were found. This is very upsetting since I specifically was looking for a chimney sweep. Beware of what you are actually paying for if this type of service is what you are looking to this company for.

  Shane did an outstanding job on a recent chimney project for me. While the first company recommended a full replacement, Shane was able to skillfully repair it with exceptional carpentry work—cutting the cost in half. He’s incredibly easy to communicate with, dependable, and trustworthy. Shane will be my go-to for any future chimney work, and I highly recommend you consider him as well.

  Just bought a home with a cracked crown. I called a company to see about repairing it and they said it must be replaced. Over $4000 I found Shane and he said he would swing by and take a look. He assured me it did not need to be replaced. He charged me $800 to repair all of the damage and seal the crown. 10/10 recommend super respectful and honest.
