Ryan and his dad converted my oversize, woodstove insert fireplace to open wood-burning fireplace, spring 2023, doing an outstanding job. Pulled the old & installed new larger flue liner, new spring-loaded damper at top of chimney (original damper cut out for woodstove flue) with pull-chain to let the spring open the damper, patched up the firebricks knocked-out decades ago for the wood-stove flue. Ryan understands his business as a science (that is a major compliment); providing good-looking, highly competent, honest work at reasonable price. The reconstructed firebox draws well; have enjoyed falling asleep by the fire on a 6' beanbag many times on cold nights this winter. There is nothing like that infrared glow to warm the soles of your feet & loosen your back muscles. Currently (spring 2024) his lead time of a full year + for this is work is nominal for all masters of their particular trade, such as Ryan.
We are so happy to have worked with Ryan. After purchasing our stove from Firelight in Asheville they recommended him for installation. He came all the way up to Madison County to work with us. Installing the stove we encountered some issues primarily with the placement andpitch of our roof. Ryan was was cool and collected and approached the issues with equanimity. We were so impressed with his attention to detail, his affability and professionalism. If we ever have need for stove installation again, Ryan would be the first we'd contact.
