We hired Smalling to help our failing chimney and replace the prior gas insert back to wood burning in our fixer upper. While our chimney was beyond repair, Smalling made it easy to decide next steps and showed compassion and understanding as it was considerable cost to redo (we received other quotes that were in the same ballpark sadly). They were great to work with, all employees were professional, and delivered a phenomenal outcome! I can't wait to use our new fireplace once we get cooler.
Caleb was on time and did a wonderful job cleaning up our two old gas fireplaces. We just moved into our home 5 months ago and we did not like the fire places - the glass was dirty and you couldn’t see the logs. We weren’t even sure if our fireplaces were safe. Caleb was so patient with us answering all of our questions and helping us feel comfortable with using our fireplaces. Sitting in front of our fireplaces is now our favorite thing to do! He was careful to minimize disruption to our daily routine and very respectful of our property. Cost was reasonable and fully explained prior to the service call, our problem was resolved, and we were advised on to best practices for future use. I had my chimney rebuilt. The gentlemen doing my job was Storm and Logan. They arrived 15 min early every day. They were knowledgeable and experienced. They were very polite. I was so happy with their work!! I will definitely call Smalling back if I have any more problems.
Smalling Masonry came to the house to remove a two sided fireplace and install a one sided one to get things up to code. The crew were respectful and hard working. Gave us updates throughout the project and made sure we understood what was going on. Would highly recommend. (The brass below one needed to replaced and they installed this lovely unit and put tile back up to complete the look.)
