My first great experience with Safe Sweep was having a real person answer the phone. I was able to make an appointment within a week. Jake came out and completed work for hundreds less than two other competitors had quoted. He waterproofed two chimneys for me and fixed my gas fireplace. Now I just use a remote to turn it on.
Unprofessional, bad inspection, and not CSIA certified My mother-in-law called early December for a chimney inspection and sweep so we could use the chimney in our new house for this cold winter. They sent us a young man named Taylor on Dec 2. He was here no more than 15-20 minutes for the inspection, flew a drone over the roof, laid down and looked up the chimney with his phone and said it looked good, he could come back sunday for the sweep. Paid him $79 for the inspection. We got the inspection email and estimate same day, with only these 2 pictures clearly showing he did not stick an actual camera inside our chimney. Didn't even include the drone picture. He texted us Dec 7 with his adjusted estimate (after we called him) and my MIL said "ok, that's fine" to the price, expecting him to show up or set the appointment but never heard back from him. We called the company nearly a month later, Jan 2, asking if we could have a different technician out because none of these 5 star reviews mentioned the guy we had and we felt like he wasn't very thorough. To be clear, we would have given this company further business if they would have just agreed to send someone we all felt more comfortable with. The lady on the phone said a manager would reach out sometime next week. Instead, Taylor starts texting us apologizing for the misunderstanding and insisting on making a new appointment. We never heard back from a manager. They called us again later trying to set up an appointment with Taylor! We decided to go with another company. They came out for a $100 inspection, stuck a camera in our chimney and we saw with our own eyes that we have gaps that need filling in our flue and crown. This other company informed us that you can see who is CSIA certified online and this technician was very informed on how to do his job and communicated much better with us. I would not recommend Safe Sweep until they respect their customer's wishes and become certified to do their inspections properly.
Jake from Safe Sweep did an amazing job with our chimney! He came out quickly and efficiently with no hassle and did everything we needed and more. Excellent repair on the roof cap, and a thorough clean of the chimney while talking us through all the steps and proper maintenance. Truly a five-star service!
Jake really took great care of our chimney. We had an insurance claim to cover the chase, but he did a thorough review of the rest of the chimney to make sure everything was safe. Got the job done on time and very well done. So glad we called you!
They were responsive, polite, and most of all helpful. Safe Sweep will always be my first call for my fireplace needs.
