So happy we went with this company. Ashley is very professional and I like how she keeps us updated. Jamie is also very professional. Very respectful of our home. The knowledge he has with this company. He took his time and explained everything the company has to offer. We went from a wood burning fireplace to electric logs. So excited to get them installed. Rick assisted and he is also very professional and respectful of home.

The company repaired my entire chimney after a roofer made a complete mess of it. I now have a beautiful new fireplace insert for winter, the installers were expert and enjoyable, and I cannot thank Hudson Chimney enough for an expert job well done.
Hudson was the best! They worked diligently to locate a gas insert that would work in our 1911 home in a small coal burning fire place. They are extremely knowledgeable, professional and dedicated to their craft.
Our review is based on our interaction and hopefully explains why we left 1 star. We had limited service as well. When scheduling a chimney sweep with this company, please be aware that if your chimney is deemed unsafe for use, you will still be responsible for the inspection fee. In our case, this fee was $325.00. Our situation arose because a contractor modified our fireplace for aesthetic purposes but inadvertently damaged it, rendering it unsafe. Due to liability concerns, Hudson declined to perform the sweep, which we fully understand. However, we were unaware that the inspection alone—consisting of a visual assessment from our living room—would incur a $325 charge without any sweeping service provided. The company asserts that this fee was disclosed during the initial appointment setup, but we maintain that it was not. We requested a recording of the call, which was not provided. As a result, this remains a dispute of verbal assurances. We advise all potential customers to confirm all applicable charges before scheduling. The entire interaction seems as if the goal was for a sales pitch from the start. The people who came to our home were very nice but it was obvious what the end goal was from the start. For comparison, Hudson quoted us $13,500 give or take to replace our entire wood burning fire box which was deemed necessary by them but three other licensed and insured companies inspected our fireplace at NO COST and confirmed that repairs—not a full replacement—were not only sufficient but possible. This was later verified with the county. We believe transparency regarding fees is essential and the fact that we are even having this conversation serves a proof that they notice of the inspection fee was clearly not sufficient enough. We’re not people who just complain for refunds. We believe in paying for services in our community. We remain out $325 for an inspection we did not anticipate, despite the company’s claim of prior disclosure. Feel free to message for the names of the other companies if you need a second or third quote. WE SHOULD HAVE READ REVIEWS WITH THIS COMPANY FIRST. OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE BEING CHARGED OVER $350 FOR NO WORK BEING DONE AND QUOTED HIGH PRICES ONLY TO FIND MANY OTHER EQUALLY OR HIGHER QUALIFIED COMPANIES WHO CAN RENDER THE SAME SERVICES OR BETTER FOR A FRACTION OF THE PRICE WITH NO FEE TO TAKE A PICTURE IN YOUR LIVINGROOM.
