  Project: second story 80-yr-old chimney rebuild from roof line up with new poured concrete crown and cap. Outstanding workmanship and attention to detail, 5 stars! It was clear from the get-go that Phil takes a great deal of pride in his work, and has a remarkable blend of knowledge and expertise and great work ethic. My wife and I have received several compliments from our neighbors on our beautiful new chimney. We're really grateful Phil and his assistant completed this project on schedule and with no cost overruns. They were extremely courteous and willing to address our questions. Phil also took the time to call a few different suppliers to get us the best pricing on our custom-sized chimney cap. We were referred to Phil by our roofer as well as staff at 2 masonry supply shops who gave glowing recommendations. Second recommendation was unsolicited and came after work was already in progress. We were selecting bricks for the project and asked the salesperson (who we had randomly selected) how well they would hold up to Syracuse weather. He said it all depended on the install. I stated we were having a contractor do the work, and he started sharing shoddy workmanship horror stories. At that point I mentioned Phil's name, and he immediately stopped and said we'd have no worries. Said he was in the process of recommending Phil to a family member! We recommend CNY Chimney highly to anyone who wants a quality job done right the first time!

  We just bought a 60 year old house and the chimney was in need of some TLC. Phil came out and gave us a quote that was lower than the other one we had received. He came and completed the work to our satisfaction repairing grout and spalling, as well as repointing. It looks better and leak free. I can not recommend Phil enough.

  Highly recommended. I had Phil do patch work on the foundation at the front of my house and steps. He was fast to respond to a request for quote, honest and pragmatic in suggesting how to fix the problem and did fantastic work. He is also very open to sharing knowledge of how to finish the project yourself, if you are interested in doing so. He is not like many contractors, always trying to up-sell. A job well done and would recommend for any job, big or small!

  We wanted to install a wood fired brick oven for our dedicated gluten free restaurant in East Syracuse. We were given Phil's name as an honest, reliable, and talented mason. We called him to come take a look at the space and told him what we hoped to achieve. It was a HUGE project but Phil was excited to take it on. Phil and his crew worked 70 hour weeks to get it done by our deadline and the finished product was even more than I had imagined. His craftsmanship is amazing. Our oven is the focal point of our restaurant, and we get asked all the time who built it. I would hire him in a heartbeat for any masonry project big or small. Thanks Phil for making our dreams come true. Your work is truly breathtaking!

  I called several contractors before I got Phil's name from a friend. He called me back right away and got the work done very quickly. It was a complete chimney rebuild, and it looks great. He was very reasonable and pleasant to deal with.
