  Used Brown Chimney to clean my chimney & fireplace. This is the second time I've used the company for work & was happy with the initial service although I was a little concerned with the up charge for the tuck & chimney cap repair work. Upon starting the chimney cleaning I was notified that the chimney was extremely dirty and there would be a $75 up charge (second red flag). After about 20 minutes the vacuum cleaning was complete. In my POV, the amount of time for the $75 additional charge was not warranted. With this, I decided to get a second opinion on the cleaning and other recommended work based on the inspection. The new company used a camera inspection on the complete chimney system and found that the smoke box was not properly cleaned. Using a wire brush and vacuum, the new company removed an additional 5 gallon bucket of buildup. As a friendly reminder: It may cost a little more upfront, but always get multiple opinions & quotes with through inspection before major cost outlays.

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a great experience with Brown Chimney, and particularly with their outstanding technician, Moshe. We started with a routine chimney sweeping. During the initial cleaning, Moshe took exceptional care throughout the cleaning process. He was thorough while maintaining fireplace cleanliness. After the chimney sweep, Moshe examined our chimney, including climbing onto the roof to check the cap and cover. He documented what he saw with photos, showing us areas of concern including some deterioration in the cap, tuck pointing, and flashing. Instead of pushing for unnecessary work, he presented four different options, including a "do-nothing" approach, and carefully explained the implications of each choice regarding safety, durability, and cost. After selecting our preferred option, the process was seamless. While the custom metal chimney cap took several weeks to fabricate, it was worth the wait. Our steep roof required a high lift piece of equipment, which they brought on the day of the installation. Moshe and his team completed all repairs in just one day. They documented their work with photos, and the results are excellent. Moshe was knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely cared about delivering the best possible results. If you're looking for honest, professional chimney services, I highly recommend Brown Chimney.
