Renée and Ron, the owners of Blue Sky Chimney Sweeps, are simply phenomenal people with a wealth of knowledge and incredible customer service! I left a message on their voicemail earlier in the day, received a call from Renée after their regular business hours because she does her best to reach back out to everyone that calls on their business the same day, and helped me troubleshoot the challenge I was facing with an ignition switch for a fireplace they did not install. While Ron explained more to me about my fireplace than the folks that installed it, Renée had pulled up the manual and offered to email it to me for future reference. By the end of our conversation my fireplace was operational again saving me the $450 the company I purchased it from was going to charge me for a service call. If you need anything serviced on your chimney or fireplace, and I mean anything as Ron has been in this industry for over 45 years, you need to call Blue Sky Chimney Sweeps.

Just had our gas logs serviced/chimney inspected by Nick this morning. He did an excellent and thorough job. Went through the report and explained things to me and answered any questions I had. Will use these guys again, for sure. Only negative was that it took two months to get on their appointment calendar but I imagine that had to do with the time of year we called.

They couldn't possibly have been more friendly, or knowledgeable- and with a minimum of mess/disruption, and for a very reasonable price, they restored our gas fireplace to a wood-burning one. I've lit a fire in it every night since (they even helped source some great firewood!), and it's worked perfectly. Wonderful company and wonderful people- use em if you have chimney needs.

Paid Blue Sky to inspect, clean, and make repairs to my fireplace. Waited for several months and paid $229 for the inspection. The guy “Nick” came out and said the chase cover was leaking, saw surface rust on the damper, so assumed the firebox was rusting from the outside in. Also, the refractory panel was cracked, and he said that my model fireplace is outdated, so you can't replace parts. Nicks recommended replacing the whole system and a new chase cover, and so didn't bother sweeping the chimney. $11,000 plus for their recommendations to replace everything. I decided to get a second opinion, thank goodness. Looked for a new company and paid closer attention to reviews before deciding who to go with. I noticed a lot of chimney repair companies have questionable reviews. I found a retired guy with excellent reviews who still does a little work on the side. I showed this guy the previous report, and he didn't think their report was right. I hired him to do an inspection. He went to my house and cut a hole into the chase so he could see the outside of the firebox and he said it looked brand new like the day it was installed. The chase cover had standing water and rust from rain, but no leaking. It's pretty common to see covers that look just like mine apparently. He thought a new stainless steel cover would be better but not necessary to operate the fireplace. He said the rust on the damper was just surface rust, and the refractory panel could be replaced with an aftermarket panel. I hired him to do the work. He replaced the chase cover, replaced the refractory panel, and swept the chimney for $1600. Everything looks great and should last as long or longer than the house itself. Make sure the company you're going with isn't trying to sell you something you don't need. I'm afraid that's how most companies operate these days. Sometimes, it pays off to get a second opinion.

Nick is easy to work with, has a lot of practical fireplace knowledge in log cabins, and was able to share some helpful pointers in a way that made my wife and I feel like Blue Sky was the perfect choice. We are sincerely grateful to Nick and his team. If you're in the Travelers Rest area, give them a call.
