  Great work from a skilled mason. I asked for a quote based on some photos from a home inspection. I scheduled for him to come out and he made quick work of rebuilding the chimney. He noted our other chimney needed some love as well while we were here and gave I called him a few weeks later to come fix the second chimney and he came out just a couple days later. He was efficient, on time, and had a great attitude. I feel much better about our chimneys and roof going into the rainy season with our new house. Thank you Al!

  My husband and I purchased our home about 6 months ago. The previous owners had installed a wood burning stove into the existing fireplace. For the safety of our 18mo and 3mo old we definitely wanted to make sure the installation was done to code and we wouldn't incur any hazards before burning. We called Arcon last week and we're quoted $130 for an inspection and cleaning. Today three men arrived right on time and got right to work. They were friendly and efficient enough but when the job was done our bill ended up being almost $300 which is more than double what we were quoted. At no point during the job was it mentioned that what they were doing was not part of the general inspection/cleaning process or that we were incurring additional charges. When I mentioned this to the man in charge he said he was giving us a good deal and most places charge $500-700 for what they did. What they did was disconnect the wood burning stove from the fireplace to access the chimney to do the cleaning. I respectfully told the man it would have been appreciated if he would have told us of any additional costs before doing any additional work other than what we had initially requested and again he told me he was giving me a fair price. I then tried to pay with a credit card as we only had $200 cash and he couldn't accept it and I had to write him a check. Overall the job that was done was done well but if you are going to use this company I would check in throughout the job that they are not doing anything more than what you asked to avoid any unwanted surprises when you get your bill.

  I had 2 chimneys done. One was a tear down and rebuild from the roof line up. The other was a clean, repair, re-flash and seal. I had excellent communication and prompt service. Any challenges we talked about, and suggestions were offered. I am very happy with my new chimneys and look forward to a leak free relationship with them for decades to come. ! Better then competitive prices, Better than average work. Way better than average service.

  I emailed to have my chimney draft problems figured out. Al responded very quickly and stopped by to inspect what the problem may be, he knew very quickly what needed to be fixed and gave me a quote. He did not try to upsell me and convince me I needed more (this has happened with other companies I got quotes from). After I decided to go with him and called him back he did the work very quickly and for a fare price. A few days later he called to check in and see if my chimney problems had been solved. I very much appreciated this. Easy to work with and great customer service, I would definitely recommend him.

  Do not trust. Here is his formula. Compliment you, your house, and your yard. Tells you everything is wrong and "you need a lot of work" before getting a closer look. Complain that he has to get on his ladder, which costs more dont you know. Picks up majority of ash, has no vacuum, and leaves before you can check his work or god forbid start a fire and find out your chimney is clogged because the adaptor he had to get on his ladder for is completely clogged, and smokes out your house. Upsells every step of the way. If you do buy his miracle fire-starting oil, he will ask if you need an invoice. Yes, okay that'll be extra.
