I came across Altman's from a google search and read many good reviews. I reached out and got a response back that day and they were able to get my chimney cleaned the next day. He was very knowledgeable, communicated well, and did a good job. I will be using him again in the future and would recommend.
They were fast and efficient. I was impressed by how clean they left my fireplace! The price was reasonable and both gentlemen were friendly and professional. They even sent me a website about fireplace information. I will use them again next year.
Tony and his assistant have been cleaning our chimney for several years. This year when he did the cleaning and inspection he went on the roof and said it was time for a new chimney cap and found a few places around the chimney that had cracked. He did the repairs and installed the new cap in about an hour. He took before and after pictures so we could see his work. He also shared some good information on types of wood to use and best ways to store the wood. His prices are reasonable and he is a knowledgeable professional that we will continue to use.
The only reason they are getting 1 star is that they showed up on time. The gentleman came and right off the bat said I had the worst chimney he had ever seen. He looked inside and said I had water damage and what looked like some kind of collapse in the chimney. Then he went on the roof and said that the damper tile was broken and had fallen. He told me that there would be no way to be able to burn wood without tearing the whole thing down and replacing it. He had me scared to death. He told me that I needed a termination cap to seal off the top so that water and critters couldn't get in. He recommended that I go with a vent less gas log system and that would be the only real way I could go without spending 10's of thousands of dollars. So, being scared to death he sold me the termination cap. I had to pay half up front $275. Come to find out I had people tell me that I need a second opinion. When another chimney sweep came he told me that I had three options. None of which would need a termination cap!

Mr. Altman was so very kind to us and went out of his way to tell us how to use our fireplace properly, so it won’t get out of shape. The people here were so very nice and I definitely recommend them!
